I was glancing at a Cardiff City forum in order to see what they had to say about the game on Friday, only to find that a lot of them seemed to hate St James'.

http://www.ccmb.co.uk/fudforum/index.php?t=msg&th=202101&start=0&rid=0&S=eca4d76141b7b634fbb211554d99c720

Crikey! You would think that fans from smaller clubs with smaller grounds would love to come to ST James'. One guy in particular wont shut up about how the view is like "playing subuteo" (loved that game).

Some of the complaints are from folks that seem to be codgers! Saying how they prefered grounds back in 1976 etc  So that would expain things...... sh*t eyesight?

One fellow made a point saying you could make the same remarks about the nou camp.

Do other fans share these views? I love ST James' Park and I feel proud everytime I walk through the doors to my seat!

I thought that there were some decent replies, not about the view but about the City and the fans, not including the chavs.

I've sat with the Man U fans at Old Trafford right at the back of the big stand, and the view was shocking, and that was for the home supporters. But I might be biased, I'm a codger.

Yeah mate you're right, one guy showed his appreciation when describing how he loved the view of Gateshead and pretty much the whole city from where he sat. You dont get that at many other grounds.

Just thought the majority of them were quite sour, made me think do most away fans think the same? I find it hard to not enjoy being in ST James' whether it be on level 7 with the pigeons or down at the very bottom in the corner.

Probably all about which team you support.

If you support Newcastle...well then any seat in St James park will suit you perfectly fine. It's about watching the team play, not where you sit.

For any away side, especially in this division, they expect a magnificent stadium where everything is perfect. For them, there's more emphasis on the experience. Whereas most of the fans here are used to it.

Level 7 is only going to be fun for supporters of the Toon. Its probably true that you wont see much from there, but in L7 its the atmosphere that counts. What kind of away fan would enjoy being in L7. I'd say none

If thats the sort of grounds and views they want, they should stick to the Championship, League 1 and League 2 like they normally do! The premiership is not the place for them after reading this. So they'd rather go to Scunthorpe, Rochdale or Exeter then St James' Park, Old Trafford, Anfield etc

What a pathetic bunch of Sheep Shagging w***kers

I sit in level 7 and i have a cracking view of the game. I sit at the side though in the Milburn stand and it's a cracking view. You can see everything that happens throughout the game.

Let them get on with it Chris. If crappy little grounds are where they want to watch their side, good luck to them i say, they're going to need it

Infact why don't they just join the Welsh league like they should anyway rather than playing in the English league. They're a Welsh team, why they playing in our league for? Get yourselves in the crappy f***ing Welsh leagues with shitty little grounds, you'll get a great view then Sheepy clowns!

sorry lads I'm a season ticket holder in the east stand and having sampled the Level 7 view of the pitch I can understand why certain folk have a problem with it. Obviously space was at a premium when the ground was re developed leading to a steeper higher stand than most bar O Trafford, Chelski. I would much rather watch my footy at a lower level without the fear of falling over when I stand up up or move! Plus I like to be closer to the action.
Saying that the atmosphere is better up there than any other part of the ground.

Yeah i agree with that SLB. Like i say, i sit at the side in the Milburn stand and it's a great view. You can see everything and what moves are developing etc. I sat in the leazes end 6 rows from the front for 16 years and yes it's great when the action is at your end, but when the ball goes down the other end, you can't see a f***ing thing and you just can't see whats happening in terms of where players are on the pitch etc.

I love sitting at the top, it's good for watching how the players play off the ball, and while you might not see the little trics and the like it's a far better all round experience. As for the ones saying they couldn't work out who was who, don't they know their team? It's easy to see how the team lines up, and as it's announced before hand it's easy to work out who the players are
