other teams have shown more ambition than us already. We are not one of the first choice clubs it would seem for many players or so it would seem.

because we won't pay the wages, these young starts want ?100k pw, we have zero chance, its changed in 2 seasons literally gone fooking off a scale we aren't on .

It's ridiculous this year like, much better value abroad in the likes of the belgian league if we're being honest

Careful SM DSC will be watching ready for some bedwetting - thinks we haven't sussed him like as a mackem wum desperate to be admired for his incisive and manly interventions.
This transfer window like all of the others is being royally f***ed up by penny pinching again - as has been said nowts changed and relegation struggles will follow as night follows day - feelgood factor well and truly gone already - no chance of a striker in this market because they're all 20m plus - fasten your seatbelts it will be a long bumpy descent as per usual at NUFCDirect.Com - tiz like being in the same grade at school year after year and the same lessons never hitting home.
Shhh here comes the mackem....

Here we go:

From the Independent on Wednesday, a stark take on what looks increasingly like a costly decision by the owner to deprive the club of vital funding thus far:

(Rafa) Benitez delivered the two Ps; promotion and profit and for that he was given promises, about recruitment and spending. He wanted to hit the ground running in the summer.

He was never overly concerned by the talk of a huge transfer warchest, but he was bothered about action, about being clever in the transfer market, about loan signings and finding clauses in contracts and about getting players in whilst others were still on holiday.

He even gave up his own, but nothing, bar the signing of the Eibar central defender Florian Lejeune, has been new.

He thought a deal had been done to sign Tammy Abrahams from Chelsea and he has pushed for Pepe Reina to join from Napoli. Abrahams went to Swansea and Reina's future remains uncertain. He thought the problems that stopped him from signing Andros Townsend in January had been ironed out.

There is confusion once more at another u-turn in club policy and there is a growing resentment at the inertia as clubs like Huddersfield, promoted along with Newcastle, have spent ?36 million already (to United's net ?4 million) and that the optimism last season's campaign built is ebbing away.

Benitez wanted control - witness the departure of the former chief scout and Ashley favourite Graham Carr - but he has been left with none.

Nail on head RS we are penny pinching our way back to the bottom while Mike concentrates on the more pressing problems of booze and betting trials at her majestys pleasure - either that or Charnley hasn't got the first clue about the current transfer climate and is operating as if we are doing clubs a favour offering somewhere near what is required and expecting them to back down.

We will never sign a striker of worth that is already very clear - you can see where Rivierre came from and we will no doubt pursue more of the same inept ilk before the month is out.

Poundland United wouldn't be too wide of the mark right now.

Better get used to the name Riviere. Leading the line for us next season. He's coming back like a born again christian but a striker version. 15 goals for him this season. Watch...

Could just see this happening or he goes to another premier league club & becomes a quality striker

Good to know there are others out there and I'm not alone in my bed bound incontinence.

there is nothing but s**t in store so long as MA is here. Spending big money is the name of the game, he doesn't want to participate in that, its so not his bag but he sticks around and degenerates us as a result. its only going to get worse the more other clubs are taken over were going to find more than 20clubs financially willing to play that game (there probably are already but some of them are in championship) and ultimately being a yo-yo club will end too.

what hurts the most is that we have everything going for us but one thing, and that one thing renders the manger, the fans, the stadium, the league obsolete.

He bought a s*** failing games company today instead of a striker for 26 million - court cases and takeovers the usual summer deflection tactic for Mike. Massive liar when it comes to NUFC - Fun 888 money no doubt helped with his latest takeover.

Hard to be especially optimistic.

Am not going to panic just yet but it is hard not to get slightly worried as if we screw up this window I can see us needing a new manager before the start of the season as I don't think Rafa will stick around if promises made to him aren't fulfilled (and I don't think he has been overly demanding from what I have read it just seems he wants more control and clear weaknesses in the squad addressed).

If he doesn't invest and we suffer on the pitch and lose Rafa due to ownership I'm out. Takes the enjoyment of football and being a supporter away.
