Newcastle in for Casillas?

Here?s one out of the left field.

Reports in Portugal claim that Newcastle are looking at former Real Madrid defender Iker Casillas,

Magpies boss Rafa Benitez has recently put Karl Darlow back in his starting XI in place of Rob Elliott, but our pals at the Newcastle Chronicle say Benitez is still looking for competition between the sticks.

Benitez worked with Casillas at the Bernabeu while he was Madrid boss. The veteran stopper moved to Porto in 2015.

literally makes no sense getting casillas. darlow is not our issue, it's scoring goals to keep us in the league.

No way on earth we'd pay the wages he'd ask.

Our keepers are pretty average, though - if a noticeable upgrade came up on the cheap it'd be worth doing...

The whole side is pretty average especially at this level that's the problem. Having a different keeper won't help much.
